Here you will find important updates throughout the year for all band students, 6-12. As events approach, detailed schedules will be added to this site in order to better inform parents and friends of additional information.

22 Middle School Band Festival, Petoskey MS, Schedule:

4:15pm Meet in the MS Band Room

4:20 Load buses, depart for PMS

4:45 Arrive PMS

5:15 Meet in the hallway near our warm-up

5:20 Warm-up begins 

5:45 Perform

6:05 Sight read

6:30 Pack up, wait for results

6:45 Depart PMS

7:05-7:15 Arrive back to HSMS

13 MS Honors Band (select 8th grade only), Kalkaska HS


5 John Hill, professional jazz musician, in to work with bands

6 John Hill Trio, with special guest Wess Warmdaddy Anderson in concert, PAC, 7pm

10 Band Booster meeting, 7pm, HS Band Room

13 Swing into Spring - Dinner & music (provided by jazz band)

30 Spring Concert: 6th grade, MS & HS Jazz Band at 6:00.  7th/8th grade & HS Concert Band at 7:30.


8 Band Booster meeting, 7pm, HS Band Room

27 Memorial Day Parade Performance (7-12th grade)


2 Commencement, 1:30-4:00 (HS Band only)


3 July 4th Parade rehearsal, 9-10am (current 7th-12th grade)

4 Parade Performance, 12-12:30 (current 7th-12th grade)

25 HS Marching Band practice, 6:30-8:30 

25 HS Marching Band parent meeting, 8:30-9:00

28 Depart for 2019 Band Camp, LSSU

  • Harbor Springs students have earned positions in both the All-State and Michigan Youth Arts Festival Honor Bands, the highest achievement available for such ensembles in the state.

  • Jazz Band has become a local and state example of excellence performing at festivals and within the community with a strong following.
  • Performs at all local events such as Memorial Day and 4th of July Parades.
