Music helps shape the mind, inspires the spirit and provides enjoyment in life. Integrating music into the learning experience during the developmental years will better equip young learners to imagine, create, and express themselves.
During the school year your child’s musical experience will include:
- The opportunity to develop creativity, communication skills and positive social interaction.
- Acquiring fundamental music skills through singing, listening, improvisation and music theory.
- Integration of movement and basic motor skills in the learning of rhythm.
- Hands on experience in the use of Orff tuned and rhythm instruments (i.e. basic percussion and xylophones) enabling your child to learn rhythm, perform melody and improvise accompaniments.
- Developing a repertoire of songs and singing games.
I am looking forward to working with you and your child in making music a positive part of their life this school year.
