Second Grade

Welcome to second grade. I’m Carol Simmons, and I am a second grade teacher here at Blackbird Elementary.

I graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 1978. I have taught in a visually impaired resource room and a regular second grade classroom. In Harbor Springs, I have been a substitute teacher, Girl Scout leader, Green Earth Gang Leader, the Title I math teacher, and a second grade teacher. I have also had the pleasure of being “The Recycle Lady” . Teaching students about recycling and running the recycling program for the Harbor Springs Schools has been enjoyable.

I love teaching and can’t wait to work you your child. Together we can look forward to a wonderful learning experience.
