Mrs. Shibata
Second Grade
Hi. My name is Cindy Shibata and I love teaching second grade here at Blackbird School. I’d like to share a little bit about myself.
I did my undergraduate and graduate work at Central Michigan University where I also competed on the Women’s Gymnastic Team. I majored in math and education during my undergraduate years. I have my Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education.
I am an early childhood specialist. My education and experience have prepared me for this. After spending one year as a math teacher in middle school, I have spent the remaining years in early childhood classrooms. I have taught preschool, kindergarten, first grade and now second grade; and I love it. The children I work with are excited about life. Their enthusiasm is catching.
My goal in life is to influence and make a difference in the life of the children in the community in which I live. Teaching is the best way that I can fulfill that goal. I love the children I work with. I am proud of their effort and the parents that are a part of their life. Thank you for sharing your child with me. I consider it a privilege to be able to spend my day with them.
I set high expectations for myself and for my students. I expect them to be successful. I show them how to succeed and they do it. We work hard, but feel good about our results.
I’m excited about working with you and your child this year. We’re going to have a great year.
