Mrs. Hoggard
First Grade

My name is Molly Hoggard, and I teach first grade at Blackbird Elementary.

As a graduate of Michigan State University, my Bachelor’s of Science took me into zoo keeping! At Busch Gardens of Tampa Bay I met ome amazing creatures! Believe it or not, I realized I was meant to be a teacher with the help of Makini, a 300-pound, 15 year-old silverback gorilla! Each day I would introduce Makini and his world to park visitors, and I especially enjoyed sharing it all with the young children I met!

Upon recognizing my desire to teach, I returned home to Harbor Springs, where I earned my elementary certification through Spring Arbor University. I have a Master's Degree in Early Elementary Literacy.  I cherish th eopportunity I have to teach reading and writing to young students!

This year is one of the most exciting and incredible years your child will have in his/her education!  First grade is a time filled with important transitions and learning adventures!  I hope to instill a love of learning in your child's life through many positive and successful learning experiences!
