Kindergarten

I received my Bachelors of Arts degree from Hillsdale College after graduating from Harbor Springs High School.  I majored in Early Childhood Education, earning a ZA endorsement with minors in History and English.

I started my career as the Director of the St. Francis Child Development Center in Petoskey.  From there I tried my hand at big city life in Dearborn Heights teaching preschool.  Realizing I was a small town girl at heart, I was happy to return to Harbor Springs.

I believe early school experiences should be a time of fun, warmth, discovery and security.  In my classroom I strive to provide an atmosphere that will instill in children a desire for learning, encouraging them to become independent learners while building positive self-esteem.  The Kindergarten year is a busy time for social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth and development.  Children will have the opportunity to experience many new learning styles through hands-on discovery.

I am looking forward to a great year with your child in the Kindergarten classroom.
