Miss Fischer
Pre-School/Young Fives

I received my Bachelors of Arts degree from Hillsdale College after graduating from Harbor Springs High School. I majored in Early Childhood Education, earning a ZA endorsement with minors in History and English.
I started my career as the Director of the St. Francis Child Development Center in Petoskey. From there I tried my hand at big city life in Dearborn Heights teaching preschool. Realizing I was a small town girl at heart, I returned home to this position.
This year I will be teaching Pre-School and Young Fives.
I believe preschool should be a time of fun, warmth, discovery and security. In my classroom I strive to provide an atmosphere that will instill in children a desire for learning, encouraging them to become independent learners. The preschool year is a busy time for social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth and development.
It is a challenging year for all those involved. I look forward to this challenge and the exciting school year ahead.
Young Fives addresses the “whole child”, emotionally, socially, physically and intellectually, providing an enriched, experiential early childhood environment taught by a certified teacher. This half-day experience is limited to 16 or less students. The program is based on national and state guidelines for developmentally appropriate programs for young children.
